He received medical education at the Kazakh National Medical University, where he was actively trained in surgery, and also studied experimental surgery in laboratory animals. The desire to find solutions and interest in science led young scientists to the University of Pittsburgh, USA. During the training in the US, Mereke Alibek mastered epidemiological and statistical methods that made it possible to study problems at both individual and population levels. The researcher was practicing the Bridging the Gap program, where he worked with people belonging to socially vulnerable segments of the population, developed projects aimed at solving social issues. One of the proposed solutions was the use of Internet technologies and mobile applications in medicine. This area is of particular interest to the scientist.
